Think back to when you or your children were in elementary school on your/their birthdays or holidays. Everyone brought in a snack for that occasion like cupcakes, brownies or your Mom’s famous nut chocolate chip cookies. You can probably remember that great feeling when everyone was enjoying those treats.
Well, now think about not being able to have those treats because your child or someone else is allergic to nuts (tree or peanut). Those great memories will be lost forever for all of those children not just for the ones who are allergic. At A&J Bakery we are trying to prevent a generation of children from growing up without those memories. We are hoping that these children can have great memories like we once did when it comes to celebrating in school or anywhere. So, that is why A&J Bakery is proud to announce we are 100% NUT FREE!
“Approximately 12 million Americans have food allergies. Of those, about 1% have a true allergy to nuts. Some kids grow out of a nut allergy, but there’s no guarantee.” (EAT Magazine, Spring 2007, p.88)
A nut allergy may not include all types of nuts some people are allergic only to peanuts. There is no known cure for food allergies. The best way to deal with them is to avoid foods that cause reactions. Read labels, and ask questions at restaurants and bakeries.
Some people are allergic only after eating nuts, while others can’t even be around them. That’s why many schools have instituted peanut-free policies. That is why at A&J Bakery we are in a new facility and bought all brand new equipment so that those with a severe case can still eat something from our bakery and not get sick. Some places say they are nut free because they make items without nuts, but remember there are still nuts in that establishment, so really they are not NUT FREE.
For all of you parents A&J Bakery is the answer to all of your worries. We have verification from our vendors that supply us that the raw ingredients that we obtain from them, they are made in manufacturing plants where there are no nuts of any kind. So, here at A&J Bakery you can get a safe cake, brownie or cookie for your child who is allergic. Or even to bring to school when there is a nut-free policy. We understand that you can control your child’s environment at home but when you go out you want to feel safe. Well, come feel safe here at A&J Bakery.
